History
The Disneyland Annual Pass program was rebranded as the Magic Key Annual Pass program, with the last sale of passes occurring in September 2023 then in early January 2024. Prices for Annual Passes have more than doubled in the last 5 years, so if you are considering buy the Magic Key passes you should carefully consider your options.
Currently, most Annual Passes are only available for renewal, with no new sales of lower tier passes. The Magic Key passes came back on sale temporarily on January 10, 2024 and were sold out in a very short amount of time. As of the date of this article, the different passes are only available for renewal again.
But don’t worry we fully expect these to come back for sale in a few months’ time.
Annual Pass Options
Starting on the more accessible end, we have the Imagine Key and Enchant Key passes. These are essentially the entry-level options, ideal for those who might not frequent the parks as often but still yearn for that Disney magic a few times a year.

Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance, allowing passholders to plan their visits accordingly.
Blockout Dates
Each pass tier has specific blockout dates when access to the parks may be restricted. Passholders should check the blockout calendar associated with their pass to avoid planning visits on these restricted dates. Being aware of blockout dates as these are ultra important to your trip planning.

You can see that, you have to be prepared to be very flexible before getting the Imagine Key pass, as you won’t have access to the Parks for most of the summer starting May 31. And the Enchant Key would only have a bunch more dates in August and 4 more days in early June than that.

While blockout dates can shift due to changes in Magic Key offerings (such as the discontinuation of the Dream Key), it’s more probable that they will remain consistent from year to year.

Additionally, families or groups who plan to visit Disneyland for multiple trips in a year can benefit from purchasing at least one Magic Key pass.
Buying a Single Magic Key Pass in a Family
